Runs in this browser. Nothing is uploaded and no speech model runs.
Read aloud times a fixed passage with the mic. The calculator turns words and duration into words per minute, or plans a slot from a target tempo. Timed file uses SRT or VTT cue times for one overall pace.
In the calculator, pick a target pace to see duration or how many words fit. The table shows one, three, five, and ten minutes at common tempos.
It does not store or play back your voice, check that you read every word, or split pace by speaker. For talk-time by name, use Who spoke the most.
This page reports one overall pace. Speaker names in a file are ignored. For share of talk time by name, open Who spoke the most.
Read-aloud passages and bands are localized. The math is the same in every language.

No. The microphone is used only while you read. The audio stays in this tab and is released when you finish.
It depends on language and context. The bands on this page are starting points for calm, conversational, and fast delivery, not a grade.
German often uses longer compound words. The same speaking speed can produce fewer words per minute than in English.
At 120 words per minute, about 600 words. At 150, about 750. At 180, about 900. Use the calculator for your own text.
Yes, when you have an SRT or VTT with real cue times. Meeting notes without timestamps belong in the Calculator instead. This page does not split pace by speaker.
